Market trader Kawusada sells vegetables to a customer in Tamale, Northern Ghana.
In a twist of fate, Kawusada family’s survival now hinges upon the profits derived from their trading endeavors. Her family were small scale farmers in Yepalsi, but have had to move her to make do due to being unable to grow good crops this year following severe drought. At just 15 years old, Kawusada now assumes the dual role of a student and an active participant in her family’s market activities, working alongside her mother.
